After settling in at your accommodation, join a guided island orientation tour to familiarize yourself with key landmarks and vantage points for photography. Golden hour captures of Emily Bay, with its calm waters and distant pines, provide a stunning introduction to the island’s natural beauty.

Day 2: Sunrise at Anson Bay and Historical Kingston

Begin your second day with a sunrise shoot at Anson Bay, a dramatic location where the ocean meets rugged cliffs. The early morning light illuminates the pristine beach, offering a tranquil start to your day. After breakfast, head to the Kingston UNESCO World Heritage site, where the ruins of convict settlements, the Georgian architecture, and Norfolk pines provide a rich backdrop for historical and architectural photography. In the evening, photograph the convict-built cemetery by the sea at sunset.

Day 3: Rainforest and Coastline Exploration

Head into the lush greenery of Norfolk’s subtropical forests with a morning photography walk through the Hundred Acres Reserve. Capture the dappled light filtering through towering Norfolk pines and other native flora. In the afternoon, venture to the island’s eastern coast for sweeping views of the dramatic cliffs at Captain Cook Lookout. This spot is excellent for capturing the jagged coastline, ocean vistas, and the occasional sighting of seabirds in flight.

    Day 4: Phillip Island Excursion

Take a boat trip to Phillip Island, a smaller, uninhabited island just off Norfolk’s coast. This excursion offers spectacular views of volcanic landscapes and rare flora. The island is a bird photographer’s haven, with opportunities to photograph species like the red-tailed tropicbird and masked booby. The unique colors and textures of the island’s terrain create striking compositions for nature photography.

Day 5: Secluded Beach Shoots and Night Sky Photography

Spend the day exploring some of Norfolk Island’s more secluded beaches, including the idyllic Bumbora Beach and Cemetery Bay. The soft sands, tide pools, and coastal flora offer diverse subjects.
